This linocut brings together two places that have shaped my sense of home: Patan, Nepal, and The Hague, where I now live.
The work grew from the way memory often functions after migration. Places do not stay neatly separated. A street in one city can begin to carry fragments of another: familiar gestures, shopfronts, people, rhythms and small details that seem to reappear where they do not quite belong.
In this print, the Noordeinde in The Hague is inhabited by figures and scenes drawn from memories of Patan. The result is not meant as a literal reconstruction of either place, but as a reflection of how memory can layer one landscape over another.
The work was selected for exhibition at Kunstbar in The Hague in September 2026.
